(St. Paul, MN)  --  There is some confusion over the extension of unemployment insurance benefits signed by President Obama this week.  Unemployed Minnesotans are eligible for a total of 86 weeks of benefits.  The Department of Employment and Economic Development's Kirsten [[ KEER'-stin ]] Morrell says it's 99 weeks in a couple of states that have very high unemployment rates.  She says that it's important for people to understand that the bill did NOT create new weeks of benefits, but rather extended federal benefits until November.  She's urging people to spend the next few months looking for a job because there's no guarantee benefits will be extended again.
