(St. Louis County, MN) -- A Richfield snowmobiler has died following a crash in St. Louis County early Monday. It happened around 2 a.m. on Lake Vermillion. Thirty-five-year-old Thomas Dean Carpenter, Jr. was thrown from the vehicle after crashing with the end of the lake's dock. Carpenter was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later. Police say alcohol did contribute to the accident.
